Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Securaze GmbH (“Securaze,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on our website https://www.securaze.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more generally.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as pixels, web beacons, local storage, and tracking scripts — perform comparable functions and are covered by this Policy.

We use both first-party cookies (set by securaze.com) and third-party cookies (set by the providers of services we embed, such as analytics or marketing tools).

Cookies may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).

2. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories. You can accept or reject each non-essential category through our cookie banner or our Cookie Settings link in the website footer.

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for our website to function and cannot be switched off. They support actions such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, filling in forms, and ensuring website security. They do not require your consent and are stored under our legitimate interest in providing a functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and the exception in § 165 (3) Telekommunikationsgesetz 2021 (TKG 2021).

2.2 Functional cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your language preference or chat session. They are set only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165 (3) TKG 2021).

2.3 Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are most visited, how visitors navigate, and where errors occur. We use this information to improve the website. They are set only with your consent and may involve transfers to third countries (see Section 4).

2.4 Marketing cookies

These cookies are used to deliver relevant advertising, measure campaign effectiveness, and recognise you when you return to our website. They may be set by our marketing partners and may involve cross-site tracking. They are set only with your consent.

We do not use cookies to sell personal information or to share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

5. Your choices

5.1 Cookie banner and settings

When you first visit our website, our cookie banner asks you to choose which categories of non-essential cookies you accept. You can:

  • accept all categories,
  • reject all non-essential categories, or
  • select individual categories under “Manage preferences”.

You can change your choices at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5.2 Browser settings

You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Most browsers accept cookies by default, but you can change this. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of our website. Instructions for the major browsers:

5.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do-Not-Track (DNT)

Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out from sale/sharing of personal information for the purposes of the CCPA/CPRA and equivalent state laws. We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track (DNT) browser signals, as no uniform industry standard exists.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our website, the tools we use, or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated via our cookie banner or a notice on the website.
